DTW is both a band and a production company based in Oregon. Our focus is to bring environmentally friendly, socially conscious, and sustainable Jazz and Funk to our region. We embody the values of the Pacific Northwest by locally sourcing all of our organic creative talent and only publishing content at the peak of freshness. No artificial colors, preservatives, or antibiotics are used at any point in our production process and although our music is sweet, you can be sure no high-fructose corn syrup has ever touched our chord progressions. The DTW discography offers an abundance of clean, natural beats with a broad selection of USDA Organic certified licks and surprisingly global flavors. Each track obtains a J.A.Z. 4 or higher rating as all of our albums are certified free range, cruelty free, and we never use feedlots for our horn players. The goal of DTW is simple: get the music from our mind to your ears as quickly and as simply possible. This signature "studio-to-table" style has garnered our tagline, Craft Music™.

DTW

DTW is an American horn band that fuses Jazz, Funk, R&B, and Swing into one unique sound. Founded 2013, DTW has grown from a small group of five musicians to a multi-faceted 10-piece ensemble that has found a home playing large stages and intimate rooms alike. With two records out and a third one in the works, DTW continues their creative upwards trajectory through the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

As the Pacific Northwest has grown into a well known cultural exporter, DTW has grown with it and has created some exciting new offerings. Specializing in music that will inspire you to get up and move, DTW’s lineup of musical brewmasters have perfected their recipe, serving you a strong flavor of groove with hints of classic horn bands and a mind melting R&B finish. “Craft Music” is what we do, and DTW embraces PNW culture by staying fresh, independent, and focused on supporting the local musical community.

But what does it mean?

If we had a nickel for every time someone asked what DTW stands for, we would have infinitely more money than we have ever received from Spotify. As DTW has grown in size and style, we realized that one name just wasn’t enough to represent our musical ambitions. Discuss the Weather, Deepening Theological Wisdom, Drink The Wine; you’ll see each DTW member, and even some fans, sporting their own phrase of choice. DTW Street band

Inspired by the sounds of New Orleans, the DTW Street Band leaves the stage behind, marching forth into another rich flavor of horn band music. If you need a band to play on the street corner, lead a parade, or even follow you on a hike (yes, we actually did this once), this is the group with the experience and the mobility to make it happen. Jamming out with a fully salted & seasoned set of unexpected covers and originals*, grab a cowbell and a wrench and join the Second Line as the DTW Street Band goes bells-up through the heart of the great Pacific Northwest.

THE Groove Members

The Groove Members is a funky instrumental combo that is perfect for events when you need handcrafted original music music to blend in, allowing for conversation and other artisanal activities while fully engaging people in the music without disruption. Our bespoke grooves will fill the room so perfectly you’ll only notice the band when we stop playing.

What IS Jazz? To us Jazz is a verb, not a noun. We believe Jazz is a mindset that can be brought to many different styles and genres so there are no limitations on what our set-list can be. MOTR is just as comfortable performing modern groove oriented styles as we are playing a traditional swing.
